folks, i'm scarred of the project! (cf blog entry 10.10.13)

the carpenter was here last week to have a propper look at the wall (all but even, the traitor!), draw lines and make a test drill. now he called to say that the new walldisplay is ready and can be mounted on monday.

the shelf will sit in the first room and take up practically all the wall opposite the entry. yes, my beloved yellow wall! the one you see from outside and that looks so inviting when it's dark outside.

to pick this colour was one of my first decisions when i fit out the shop in the beginning and it was one i was very happy about for all these years. i hope there will be enough yellow remaining around the borders...

so monday the walldisplay will go up and i can only hope that i'm not disfiguring the room.

maybe it will look real good!?

boudoir

here's one of the new bracelets. they each have a name and this particular one is called "boudoir"!

it just sold this afternoon and stupid me already regrets ordering only 1 piece... i hope to reorder it in time. at least i had already taken the picture yesterday.

the other colour combinations are being posted soon too.

awful weather today! i'd rather look at this print (makes rain look pretty) than outside...
 
these archive folders are every bit as beautiful as functional. i'm game!

store away and organise all the clippings and other bits of paper: one compartment for business cards, one for recipes you want to try (however how unlikely this is!), one for travel tips, one for tax declaration, one for straying photographs etc etc

i now have two sizes (A4 and A5) in several designs. more pics to follow.

i expect a new delivery of these vases in various shapes and colours in the next two weeks.

room for improvement

it's been a long time since i last ventured on a "project" for the shop! 3 years to be precise. the completion of a project fills you with joy but it really calms you down for a while...

the thing with projects is, apart from the hassle, that they come at a certain price (read: i need a money printing press) and it's a risk, because it's not easy to envision the result.

for several months i have been thinking of a walldisplay made to my exact measurements (believe me, each cm is painstakingly negotiated (between me and me) and as i'm fast approaching 10 years of le boudoir (really! let's have a party!) i have just decided that i will give it a go.

will this walldisplay pay itself off? rather, i'll have to plainly deduct the cost from my poor salary...

equations of humidity

this grey weather is triste enough, but the humidity, not to speak of the fine drizzle = bad hair days in a row for frizzy hair like mine = effective undermining of the morale of the troops.

so this morning i thought: a beanie is on order! fortunately i have provided for that (cf post entry 13.3.13)and so i got to pick one in the shop, very convenient, i know ;-) 

the new beanies come in navy blue, grey and mustard and are 100% alpaca. pics to follow soon (maybe).

its very random to take selfpictures and regrettably the maximum distance is the outstretched arm (your hand both holding the i-phone and triggering the picture) so well, the result...(ceramics are much more interesting anyway!!!).

so i thought i'd post this picture of a magazine. 

 












now that's the way to wear it!

to sum it up, the beauty of the beanie is: 
*it's anti-humidity (both hiding and preventing = genious)
*it's anti-cold
*it's fashion (provided you have the right hair/cut)

bowled over

... by shades of grey - and i don't mean the book.

a week later than planned the ceramic order finally went out...

could i order all the pieces in all the colours that would greatly simplify matters!

but putting the order together (streamlining, streamlining) is still much more pleasant than unpacking... but for that later.

so while waiting for delivery, here the beautiful colour palette chosen by nathalie, who kindly sent me this pic.

fall

there is no doubt about it, fall is here. in the woods, in my wardrobe (i spent a couple of hours this sunday to switch from spring/summer to autumn/winter clothes)and took off my red toenail polish...

pimping earrings

that time of the year is a big ballet of orders going out/coming in (and all the stages before, in between and after). while it's frankly not groundbreaking brain work, it's taking care of a zillion of details.

alas, a zillion tends to make me confused and disorganized, the total contrary of what is required!

so this morning, instead of writing down a sensible to do list i calmly pimped these earrings with faceted stones. on my non-existing to do list this task would probably rank last...

i do realize the result of the pimping is only visible at close look. it's only about details.

and now let me get back to real work!
