give me the light

i wish my kitchen looked like this... peace and order!

which is much more than i can provide you with, but i could at least get you those pendant lights. yes, they're the ones you've seen hanging in the shop front window for ages (changing lights can only mean trouble).

right now they're sold out but i'm passing an order so if you want to join in let me know here: entrez@leboudoir.ch

all the family members

i've had these magnetic frames for many years now, but what's new is the neon colours. a dash of zingy colours that's very welcome on grey days like this one.

if you're lucky you can use these magnetic frames on your fridge. other than that they will stick to any surface where magnets hold.

a couple of years ago, francis gave me one of my favorite gifts ever: an album containing the most ugliest photos of him, me or us together; pictures of horrible moments on trips, big smiles with salad between teeths, a grease stain on a silk blouse, pimples, worst ever seen hair days, unintended grotesque faces etc... photos that make you blush of shame and that you would gladly bin instantly. seriously, one shouldn't. each time i leaf through that album i have to cry with laughter and i'm so glad he sneakily kept these pictures!

warm-up

ladies, some of you will remember about the new leather bags that are in the pipeline (cf post 3.10.12).
there will be a tote bag in two sizes and several colours and this smaller bag shown here.

what you cannot see from Annabel's lovely pictures (but that i remember from when i saw them) is that the bag is made of 3 individual parts; you can actually unbutton one part and use it as a clutch. so chic for all the work apéros that you lazy lot will be enjoying in december while i will be grafting!

can you guess the colours i have ordered?

watch out for pictures of the tote bags that i will post next week.

tricks of diversion

last saturday Maria inspired this trio... each of them is good on its own and worn toghether quite glamorous!

that would be a quite effective antidote to my unglamorous little problem of the day: an offensive pimple that elected domicile on the precise middle of my nose!

some exceptions/mistakes aside (when i unpack and ask myself: what was i thinking when i ordered this?) i buy only products for the shop that i actually like. but of course there are personal favorites... these two little chaps definitely are in my top ten since several years and i have two of them at home.

if you ask me, this is a 100% lovely christmas gift.

btw i have already posted twice about this scandinavian classic, in the archive you will find the posts dated 14.12.08 and 7.4.10.

earlier this month i said i would post ideas for little things to be put in advent calendars... and forgot all about it, so here a few ideas for little gifts.

an unpolished little diamond

yesterday was saint boudoirs day - 9 years already since i first opened the shop door (can't believe it)!

one would think that after 9 years everything should be quite organised and under control... but somehow i still haven't managed to achieve that. the shop looks quite home-made and every now and then i hear the question: did you produce all the products yourself? (note: i have over 140 suppliers, which is insane) or: did you just open the shop? i'm not sure it's a compliment!

however, this year i managed to do a window decoration in time for advent and christmas, which is quite unheard of for me :-)

the snowflakes are handmade of washi paper and stick to glass surfaces by spraying them with water. they can be peeled off the glass and re-used every year. so clever.

these come in a pack of 5 small snowflakes (14.50), a pack of 3 medium sized snowflakes (14.50) or a pack of one large and one small snowflake (14.50).

ps: washi tape comes in handy to hold snowflakes in place until you're happy with your composition (without leaving residue on the glass like other tapes).

please note that the shop will be closed saturday november 18th.

two days ago i finally received anne's parcel. this is a jewellery line i walked past the last two seasons (being too reasonable) and the third time i didn't walk past anymore...

what's special about anne's jewellery is that in her atelier she personally finishes each piece with touches of velvet. so there is the contrast between the goldpleated shiny surface and the velvet mat surface.

i'm here wearing one of the necklaces, what you cannot see here is that the colour of the velvet is a dark bordeaux.

chunky knit

so this is the pigeon grey scarf i spoke about the other day. why so far no one has picked this colour is anybody's guess... i actually like it.

the raspberry red colour sold out yesterday.

flown away - want to order it?

you know what it feels like when you return to a shop to buy something you have seen and then you're too late, it's gone!

i sometimes get that feeling when a customer buys a piece of which i either only have one or it's the last...

today that just happened when this tray with the bird was sold. only one piece. and now i want it, badly! as a present for my mother (she doesn't read the blog, but you Papa need to keep your mouth shot) and/or for moi-toute-seule-allein.

now you see the dilemma... should i re-order it at once although i have yet enough of the rest of porcelain on stock?

so, sisters and brothers, if you think that this tray might come handy as a christmas present (or any other occasion for that matter) mail me here entrez@leboudoir.ch and if we're enough of us i'll order it asap so we can get delivery well in time.
the porcelain tray has a diameter of 23cm and costs chf 89.- the bird is attached to the tray. the dots and lines are royal blue.

a stylist had picked the t-towl with the blue bike in my shop for this shot that appeared in the magazine saisonküche of july. now it's finally in stock again.

chunky knit

there... it's decided.

i knew i would buy one of the big scarves for myself but couldn't make up my mind on which one to pick. over the past few weeks the choice has grown smaller (orange, nude, grey-moustard yellow, orange-melange and friday navy blue have sold out) so it made it easier for me. now wearing my scarf i think this colour combination was kind of waiting for me. i like it!

there was another contender in pigeon grey, looking good too (i'll take a photograph for you to see shortly, because that particular grey looks better worn than sitting on the shelf) but in the end i went for the lighter colour and i liked the fact that it is two-toned.

the disadvantage of it being that made of alpaca it can leave wool bits on felt-like coats, so that's a combination to avoid.

eye candy

...another beautiful picture of Anne's lookbook. i take my hat off to the stylist/photographer of this picture, what a talent.

Anne's collection is due in next week!

click on the picture for a better look at the necklace and/or the rest (this door reminds me of a chocolate bar, i'm getting hungry!

party season ahead

first of november...

let's not talk of christmas yet but every year i have customers looking for small gifts for advent calendars and 24 gifts, that's a lot! so i thought i might come up with ideas every now and then during november.

idea #1 paper ball
these come in a set of three in assorted colours, diameter 10, 15 and 20cm so you get 3 parcels out of that (12.5% of the calendar, not bad, ey?)
