soon

hello friends, i haven't told you yet: as i will be going on a holiday the shop will be closed for a bit more than 2 weeks from next friday!

so here's a little outlook on what will be new when shop doors reopen mid of june: jewellery from héloise (as shown in picture), and a another brand new jewellery collection of which i might show you a couple of pictures tomorrow (picking up the parcel tomorrow at the post office!). 

please note that the shop will be closed from may 30 to june 14.

expected

last autumn i bought sunglasses for the store for the first time and well, as a repeat offender, have (as already mentioned) ordered from the new collection of this young london brand.

nothing more effective to put some dash to your look as a cool (or for that matter hot) pair of sunglasses, don't you think?

and the chf 54.- price tag is gratifyingly affordable too. (i mean, who wants to lose another pair of 250 quid sunglasses?)

stay tuned to see what designs will be available... i can already let on that there is even a beautiful, nay two! beautiful designs for brave males too ;-)

same but not identical

i'm expecting news from sweden. i have ordered trays made of birch wood. lovely in an old fashioned way.

in the making

these enamel bracelets are now in production, i hope to receive them before the end of the month along with more new jewellery.

i have tried them on and think they look lovely when worn, be it on their own or combined with other bracelets.

all in all i have quite a lot of new jewellery on the way (6 collections to be precise), gradually trickling in from end of march to july, so put some money on the side till then!

another look at spring

yeah, it is a bit early... but on this gray and rainy day we'd like to fastforward 2 months! and well, yesterday i ordered this bag in this fresh celadon green.

wait, celadon we had this in yesterday's post... so why not team this with a deep bordeaux and flanel grey to set off the green?

a first look at spring

as january is drawing to a close let's have a first sneak peek of a new jewellery collection i'm expecting for spring - end of april to be more precise. 

3 months to go... that sounds like ages when winter is inching on, doesn't it?

but i have another collection expected for end of march, including some feather earrings, now this sounds like fun :-)

there is something comfortingly oldfashioned about these prints... loving it!

i have ordered cards, t-towls, aprons and, erm, napkins, coasters and handkerchiefs. i would never have thought of ordering handkerchiefs in my (wildest) dreams. have i done that, for reals??

sharp shades

it's a nice sunny day today and even if we do realise autumn is near, who can resist sunglasses like that? surely there will be the one and other sunbeam in autumn and winter and then it's already spring again!

so i'm very excited to announce that last week i received the ok for a cool london brand and things are moving quickly from here.

can't wait!

ps: a not negligible detail... i promise you will not be put off by the price tag :-)

tropical theme

it was many years since i last went to paris in the summertime and i must say it was quite la dolce vita! sun, sun and more sun.

the show, i'm afraid to say, was less inspiring that i had hoped for, but there is one novelty i look forward presenting to you in the shop next autumn (i know, i know!): embroidered brooches.

ok, so brooches are a bit of a special case, but just wait to see... i'll come up with pics with the brooches worn both by women and men. yes, men. in smokings.

the thrill of anticipation

i know, i know... more jewellery! 

i just happened upon that picture i took back in march when i put together these (and more) pieces for an order.

we'll have to wait until july for this jewellery to arrive in the shop, but i thought it was alright to give you a sneak-peak :-)

it's out of the closet

there you have it, i couldn't resist... (or were you naive enough to think i could?)

so i've ordered some printed t-shirts and sweaters (i didn't get all the designs i wanted but then i'm already lucky to get something for this season).

i have to stop you in your tracks: no these tops are not available for adults. and yes, it's unfair. but at least you will be able see your kids wearing the stuff and it will make you smile. not to mention of the lovely present idea that is now yours.

i expect the mini collection to arrive around mid-month.

you bet! but not the real thing, ephemeral ones. like the stick-on tattoos you found in the bazooka chewing gums (remember sam the pirate?), just more grown up.

common wardrobe dilemma

this morning i was standing in front of my wardrobe, clueless. looking at winter clothes - big pullovers that is - filled me with loathing. i have nothing to put on!

that's why i love a good scarf. it can change your outlook on the day... no wonder they have been at the fashion forefront continously since 2007 (i happen to remember this precisely because i bought a so-called "Arafat scarf" that summer, hihi).

so aside from the big chunky scarves (wonderful as they are, now under a ban until next autumn, but the new collection is already in the making) and the finer wooly ones i have a new line from danemark in the works. 

my order back in january has now been confirmed, i'm happy to say! there will be all kind of materials, also of pure silk, with the common denominator of prints. and very nice ones at that! 

first delivery expected for june.

the clock is ticking for...

if i'm counting correctly i have 12 deliveries in the works, one of them will only be ready in september (knits), others for summer (scarves), in a few weeks (ceramics, jewellery, bags), and some anyday from now. in this latter category i have: kelims, a jewellery spring collection, muuto and this one with the wrapping paper. now who get's excited about paper?

well, i do! and let me add this: i also took the textile gift ribbons (in all the colours :-) and i also took the... but let's not reveal all here, keep posted!

good things coming your way

this morning in my mailbox: a notification of the french post signalling that a parcel is being dispatched for me. indeed: i'm expecting a new collection of jewellery from france for mid march, so i hope it's that :-)

with a little patience

we're slowly approaching february... in my mind february is the last of the winter month and we have to hang in there! however, february gets more exciting with the prospect of first spring collections trickling in, i expect two of them for february.   

remember last year's "friday pieces"? well, the new collection is being completed in hawaï this very moment... (the colour of the stones are mainly in fresh green and blue tones, very springy)and 4 month ago in paris i also ordered this new collection by a french jewellery maker that i have admired for many seasons but so far hadn't made the jump. (see above marie's photo of the passed autumn/winter collection).

an update on paris

 wow, i'm glad to be back to business even if energy levels are still a bit lacking. to spend entire days at home sounds like a good plan but i'd rather work than feel like crap.

also, i've got loads to do before.... LEAVING ON A HOLIDAY soon!

so, let us catch up on paris...  paris under a rare blanket of snow. i reordered with a good many of the usual suspects but for me it's always a highlight to find a new supplier. my standout discoveries this time where 2 danish companies, one for shawls (to be confirmed), one for paper mobiles, and a french jewellery maker. i've also set my peepers on a very colourful brazilian style bracelet (bought one myself for my birthday). you see i'm being my old faithful self :-)
