hello friends, i haven't told you yet: as i will be going on a holiday the shop will be closed for a bit more than 2 weeks from next friday!

so here's a little outlook on what will be new when shop doors reopen mid of june: jewellery from héloise (as shown in picture), and a another brand new jewellery collection of which i might show you a couple of pictures tomorrow (picking up the parcel tomorrow at the post office!).

the no brainer

this to me is the mother of all jewellery: a fine gold necklace.

with one like this you simply can't go wrong, wear it from morning to evening, with your pajamas, a t-shirt or a summer dress.

for maximum simplicity you can even take the pendant ring away and put it back on again.

tube vase

new colour

so this is the new mint colour. the tube vase in yellow is also new.

i like.

give me the light

this past weekend Mireya sent me this picture with the yellow vase in her home; she just beautifully caught the oblique light beams reflected from the picture frame!

the vase, as some of you will know, is a true classic of the shop, coming in a variety of sizes and colours. last week i received a batch with the brand new mint colour, i think it's absolutely beautiful... see for yourself in tomorrow's post!

london weather

rain, sun, more rain... well from this weekend on we should be on the sunnier side up again. 

we're all for it and we're ready :-)

an interesting colour scheme

... if i may say so myself. 

blue notes and mustard mixed in to beiges and woody browns with a touch of gold.

here you can find all the "usual suspects" = my favorite ingredients to a little still life: some wood, some glass and some ceramic, so you get glossy versus matt and transparent versus opaque. add a potted plant or other vegetal, it makes all the difference. for the sake of the colour scheme i have a bit neglected the aspect of mixing shapes cleverly. will do next time.

new colours

today i received a ceramics delivery from denmark, each and every piece intact, thank you very much!

these candlecups now come in 8 colours: yellow, orange, pink, skyblue, mint, petrol (not shown), light blue and white/white as shown in the first picture.

until the sun is back: a candle a day keeps the gloom away.

on my wish list

though there is none of them on display in my shop window right now, you may know that i'm selling the secto birch lamps from finland. 

i'm now thinking of these wall lights for my bedroom... i love the scandi look plus - and that's key in my case - they are space savers. the problem sometimes with the secto lights are that they provide little light but that doesn't apply in the bedroom :-)

the wall lamp shown above is in white, i think i'd go for the natural birch one. but first i have to find out (=ask boyfriend) what to do with the cables...

earlier this year i told you i ordered jewellery with feathers... but i hadn't told you yet it's arrived a couple of weeks ago, necklaces and earrings in various colours.

i work dangerously close to jewellery and that of course takes its toll (personally i have no regrets, my wallet maybe more so). boyfriend always says he's glad i don't work in a chocolate store (damn right he is).

this pair i bought last year and i have worn it many times since, among others at an italian wedding. they remind me of a piece my mother bought in greece many years ago, so to me, they are my "greek" earrings. they are not fashionable, they are old school beautiful and mystic.

i first had them in the shop a year ago but i have now reordered a few pair of these earrings. embossed, gold plated sterling silver earrings for chf 118.-
