put some life in your ceramics (and some ceramics in your life)

do you recognise the cute ceramic espresso cups?

yep, the same as i sell in the shop. i actually also use one for a cactus (cf blog entry 28.8.13; the cactuses are still alive and kicking!). not only can you drink your espresso at work from it, you could also use it as vase, a flower pot, as a pen holder, to put some apéro stuff like grissini inside etc etc

that's why even one single piece of ceramic makes sense and will bring a little joy, colour to your everyday life. without breaking the bank!

a first look at spring

as january is drawing to a close let's have a first sneak peek of a new jewellery collection i'm expecting for spring - end of april to be more precise.

3 months to go... that sounds like ages when winter is inching on, doesn't it?

but i have another collection expected for end of march, including some feather earrings, now this sounds like fun :-)

some call it a mess...

i call it work in progress :-)

the tearing out of magazine pages is a very familiar sound to me...

brothers and sisters, i have exciting news that i won't disclose just now except for that i dubbed it the "lbw in the house" project!

(lbw being the acronym for le boudoir wohnaccessoires)

on this i'm leaving you for a week as tomorrow afternoon i'm off to the trade shows in paris. see you back on january 29!

preparing paris

is january your favorite month of the year?

not really, thought so... january is a drag in the shop: it's the crash after december but still loads of paper work to work off. it's like cold coffee.

i suspect this is the case for many in my line of business, so most conveniently the trade shows enter center stage in january. so i'm not sad to say that next week i'm off to paris on wednesday evening!

i'm mentally making notes of my favorite bakeries, restaurants, coffee shops, bars... but i'm also planning on my orders!

for instance: what do you think of this mobile side table? the trays are made of steel, the legs of ash wood. available in black, white, coral, dark grey, light grey and mint. price tag chf 280.00.

for more info/pictures get back to me at
entrez@leboudoir.ch. orders are welcome until january 24.

ceramic order ahoi

a quick pic snatched before the two ceramic dishes went over the counter just a few minutes ago... often enough i only have one piece per colour and so i almost regret to sell the pieces (which of course isn't the idea). since many other colours/shapes are not available in the shop anymore i'm planning on a new order. as always you're welcome to make special orders, get back to me for any questions.

it wasn't planned but today i bought new t-towls, handprinted in zurich. in this case a gold lobster (looks olive green here but it's gold)printed on half linen/half cotton. makes for a very nice present.

mad about the copper (3)

architects from berlin have developed this thin sheet of metal grid that can easily be formed into a bowl. you get it flat and form it yourself to your liking.

shown here is the gold version, but it also comes in copper, and that's the one i have in mind to order.

ceramic bowls on linen and filled with food... what could be more mouthwatering?

those boat bowls in various sizes and colours are one of the shop classics. i'm soon placing an order for new ones as after christmas i have only one single piece left in small pink. ah, and one pair of the salt&pepper boats in xs size in black and white.

mad about the copper (2)

this pendant lamp has been smiling to me since the show of last september...

the damage is (around) chf 295.- it's quite worth it, don't you think?

i might just fall for that copper pendant light end of january, anyone else? if yes, you can let me know with an email here:

mad about the copper

first day on the job this year...

sadly the cafe neighbouring the shop is closed until next monday (oh, the lazy bums! or is it just me being stupid for turning up today at all?) so no peacable coffee sipping in front of the computer today i'm afraid.

i haven't told you yet, but i went to see my family in danemark over christmas and as usual i pored over my aunt's home magazines for hours (with coffee and cookies, mind you! oh, i'm so in withdrawal!) and apart from seeing a lot of familiar home accessories i sell in the shop i also came across new things i mean to buy for the shop. bah, for you!

looks like i'm continuing on my weird trip (hankerchiefs, napkins, coasters) of things i would never have thought i would select for the shop and now, you saw it coming: i'm meaning to buy this thermos flask, or vacuum jug, as they call it.

it's a danish classic, but what's new now and what i like about it is the copper tone. i usually never speak of trends because that's boring and quite unnecessary for home accessories but i find i'm really drawn to this trend. copper is so cool!!! i want.

two more items in copper have left a mark on my retina, read about them next week.

a fresh start

first of all: happy new year, brothers and sisters!!!

yesterday evening (december 31) i made a last unexpected (and for those who know me surprising) discovery: i really like portwine! as boyfriend said, 2014 is going to be an extravagant year...

other than that we started the year with a fine: boyfriend managed to cross not one but two railway tracks just in front of a police car... but the good bit is: i have finally cleared my home office of 20cm deep layer of strewn papers and other fossilised bits and pieces. ah, the relief! (even though a few overdued invoices turned up waiting to be paid).

since i was totally successfull with abiding by my resolves last year (realistic as i am i hadn't made a single one) i'm encouraged to make these resolves for 2014

1) mundane but effective: to actually write down all my zillion passwords on one single piece of paper, the challenge being to successfully locate that piece of paper when needed.

2)(drum and roll) eat sweets only every other day. and not to double up the portion on that other day. yes perfectly.

so i hope you agree with me 2014 is boding well.

and now for the more profane commitments: shop doors will reopen from friday january 5th already.
