a neon yellow firework

remember the made-in-zurich-hand-printed-cushions? well, i have a new version to show you with a neon yellow flower print... striking the right balance between old fashioned and today's taste for neon.

unfortunately it looks like these will be the last pieces printed on linen. the 3 makers have started printing on cotton now as it's less susceptible to wrinkling. bad idea, if you ask me! i'd go for beauty over convenience.  

the other print that is currently available is the neon orange dragonfly. unfortunately this one is already printed on cotton (same beige colour).

bring on the colours!

i don't know if you're a reader of living magazines or blogs, but if you are, then you will have noticed the scandinavian trend for all "black-white-wood" that has prevailed for the past few years. and that seems to have been picked up by the cool crowd everywhere else. i could show you zillions of photos, but let's just have two:

now this looks like a beautiful appartment (space-window-floor-walls) but i would NEVER EVER like to live in a black-white-wood colour scheme. where is the juice?

ps: i have bought 2 pink wood chairs. say the pink of a newborn (read: clean) piglet. more on that next week.

new in

last week the kilim rugs arrived, i've also taken some cushion covers (60x60cm).

believe me, when you're literally stumbling over and climbing on piles and piles of folded kilims it's a rather daunting task to keep your cool and pick the best pieces (not to mention the stressful presence of the choleric turk boss!).

that allone is a good reason why a person in his/her right frame of mind wouldn't buy rugs, but on top of that it's also because selling a kilim can take a long time. the right sizes x the right colours x the right wallet (fine woven kilims like that come at a price)= infinitesimal chance of selling it to you, dear reader, but you never know ;-)

btw: i'm glad about the pieces i've chosen! so i'm optimistic that they will find a happy home in time as did the other kilims so far.

remember the cushion cover with the sparrows? (cf post 24.7.12.) here's the new hand print with the golden dragon fly. i'm all for a cushion mix and this one adds interest and the cream white base lightens up any colour combination you already have. a touch of light is welcome in the darker season!

right on time

the right timing is of essence for most things, but alas, i'm not particularly good at it. so i've effectively waited for weeks to post the picture of the cushion cover with handprinted sparrows until the 3 pieces i had were long sold. congrats.  

but now comes to good bit: i might get some more cushion covers. in the future. (they probably are in the process of being printed in zurich right now).

blue clouds

i don't know what happened to me in january at the trade show but it seems i had more than just a mild obsession with cushions. now they're all in and i have no room to put them all (please buy cushions)!

are you cohabiting with a male? i think this particular cushion is rather male-friendly...

just as a footnote: did you know importing goods to switzerland is a nightmare? i'm sure my few ultra-white hair are down to this (if you don't see them it's because i pull them out one by one, hehehe).

i like the new printed cushions that arrived this morning. are you team flats or team heels?

i also restocked on t-towls, some new prints and some familiar ones.

winter quarters

as temperatures drop it's good to eat some steaming hot soup and to snuggle up at home.

i have ordered new cushions and can't wait to get them in the shop. what is special is that these cushions are made of high quality furniture fabric and so fairly firm. which makes them ideal to combine with your sofa and give it a more elegant and grown up look than softer cushions. many colours and two shapes: 46x60cm or more elongated 38x72cm with (or without) contrasting buttons of different colour on each side.

just married...

today i cought a glimpse of the royal wedding, the key moment when the prince put on the ring to his princess: it took a bit of a push! so i thought i might make a post about rings today, but what did i get just then: a parcel from france including above t-towl and cushion. very appropriate... so now the wedding season is on and there you are with 2 fresh ideas in case you're after a wedding present. happy week-end everyone.

rare specimen in the shop

i do like all sorts of birds (various blog entries) and this collibri looks like it was just picking nectar from these flowers! delicate wings, delicate petals... cushion with collibri 64.- and ceramic vase 68.- the next bird to land an entry on this blog will be of paper. keep posted!

mami, can i have a dog? no.
papi, can i have a cat? no.
can i have a hamster then? sorry.
now you can have a panda, a cat with a hat, a fox or even an elefant and nobody can possibly say NO, for these are incredibly low maintainance.

between unashamedly feminine and girly, there is a thin line not to be crossed : we want the chocolate but not the toothache! or by terms of brüno, the first is really "ach ja" and the second so very "nischt, nischt"...
these cushions come in white or grey as a canvas to your immagination (50x50cm).

the princess and the pea

for some there just can't be enough cushions. especially when there are so many colours and stripes to choose from. cushions are the very important accessory between christmas and new year. indispensible for soft landings.

lucky strike

some have had the brilliant idea to be born just before christmas. and some were stupid enough to make them their love interest! as if it weren't difficult enough to find just one present at the time. of course, this could never happen to me. and i never run out of ideas. but i do commiserate.
