room 4 improvement

i only just replaced the "for" by 4 in the title and it makes me smile to myself because it's so fitting!

so yes, i have some exciting news: room 4 is nearly there. so nearly there i dare say this time it's going to happen for reals!

this was my mouthwatering lunch in the shop today and i can tell you it tasted every bit as good as it looked. all the credit goes to nathalie who this morning handed me a doggy bag, as she called it... a very elegant one i might add. all because i had complained about my being tired of eating sandwiches and müslis everyday! now how lovely is this?

we don't have the budget of the ritz hotel for flowers, so now is the time of the year when you can go tall without breaking the bank. gladiolas cost just 1 franc a piece when self cut. tall paper vase for 39.-

sold today

you have seen the magnetic frames for many years in the shop and they still are a neat idea for a present.
i rapidly snatched a picture of these two because each is the last piece in red/white in its respective shape. farewell and goodbye!

floral details

a bit unlucky i forgot my umbrella in my friend's car last monday! while another copious rain shower is hitting the street we can wonder at floral details without getting wet...
lately i have been taking pictures of these floral details in prints, postcards, t-towls etc because they are slowly selling out and sadly i cannot restock. i can only hope the french trio will change its mind and revive the production, sooner or later.

it's cold, dark and rainy these days of mid-july and in my mind this weather is best qualified by "lousy" as my father would say. so when i came across this little t-shirt today i thought this is a good day to show you a picture of it: take your car (and an old DS like this wouldn't be to shabby either) pack your stuff and drive off!

sunday bits

before anything else... let me put the disclaimer at once: this is NOT my suitcase! this is my friends suitcase including tiger and she doesn't give a hoot about what other people think. now that is cool.
i can't say my friend and i picked the best week-end to go to appenzell weather-wise, but dramatic skies are fascinating. plus we were practically allone...

room for improvement (continued)

yesterday first thing at work my computer got infected by a vicious virus and i had to shut it down for the remainder of the day. very funny.

feeling a bit aggressive i did the unthinkable: attack the chaos in future room 4. i don't really know what the chaos theory is about, all i can say is the one i have in room 4 must be the proof of it.

for those not in the know: room 4 was supposed to become part of the shop in autumn 2009. it never made it. in a way that some have come to believe room 4 doesn't even exist at all...

so i attacked. well sort of, as i really only managed to clear the passageway that leads to room 4 by cramming things into room 4. so you might say the chaos in room 4 actually increased.

nevertheless, i'm quite pleased with the result. see picture for a sneak-peek.

in the evening bf fixed my computer (what on earth would i do without him?), so today work as usual resumed. so far, so good, but now, will it take another virus to continue the good deed?

finally...

look closer and you'll see more than the wood bench corroded by leagues of woodworms... yes, the "not so new anymore" pendant lights have finally come out of the closet and have made it straight into the shop window, thank you very much!

arguably, this pendant light is really just a giant bulb with a silicone socket, but hey, it's really cool. especially if you put it near wood as a contrast. the cable is extralong, the idea being that you can make it hang between two points from the ceiling. (look at separate picture below and to see what i mean).

the pendant light is on stock in the colours red, grey, purple, yellow and white. please note that the cable comes in the same colour as the silicone socket.

what's more? i'm afraid this picture is not so good (and the others taken from the outside turned out even worse because of the reflection), the problem is i wanted to show my bespoke mobile too! best as usual to drop by and have a look 1:1.

morning ritual

i'm off work on mondays so my week begins on tuesdays. my brain seems to be easily tricked, because hallelujah! i don't get the sunday-evening-blues anymore, not even on mondays...

what i will not forego is my morning ritual: a good cup of coffee! surely if it looks pristine like this in a ceramic cup it can't be that bad a habit?

ok, so this is not new, in fact i made this collage in blue hues nearly two years ago. i really like it so it's practically twisting the knife in the wound to tell you that aside from my cousin (who might be biased) i never got a compliment for it! sigh...

lost the plot...

i'm full of bright ideas, the problem is that they usually don't get to see the light.

this week-end i seriously meant to change my shop window display (for once i actually know what i plan to do) but then the weather interfered: too good to set foot in the shop!

so the first entry of the week is going to be about stickers, not window displays. the sticker shown here is in my toilet, sadly it's a one off and i don't have it for sale. the toilet lid is still my favorite place to put a sticker! click on the tag "stickers" below and you will find an entry of 2008 for evidence.
