wednesday: from 12h to 18h30
thursday: closed
friday: from 12h to 18h30

we don't know yet about saturday, so please check later that week if you plan a visit for that day.

lazy butik

my shop-sitter miss b. is teaching at university tomorrow and is on a kayak course saturday which leaves us with opening times as follows for the end of this week:

thursday may 27th: closed
friday may 28th: open from 12h30 to 18h30
saturday: closed

a little unfair...

dreamy picture I took yesterday evening, love the swallow that flew into it on its own accord!

usually i try to cut off with the computer during holidays but this time i need flexibility to keep you posted on opening times of the shop: so please note that miss b. is opening the shop today wednesday from 12h to 18h (so closing a bit early).

some chocolate later

...it's still grey and damp and looking at the picture i took minutes ago it feels like i was lost in a unknown chinese city, not in zurich on a may day. small wonder the summer holiday feeling hasn't kicked in yet!

please note that the shop will be closed from may 26th to june 5th included.
last minute: a friend will be baby-sitting the shop next tuesday, so pop in on that day if you want to graze in the shop without me for the first time :-)

when?

...is this horrid weather going to end? it's May!

anyway, i'm determined to tackle seriously my to-do list before going on a early summer holiday end of next week, but i will also reward myself with a daily five o'clock tea with three Sprüngli chocolate visitadines until rainy days are over. bad for the bikini (not wearing it anyway) - bon pour le moral!

battle the elements in style

our problem with the water right now (= past fortnight) is that it comes from above, not below...

so if your're lucky enough to have a balcony or terrace, be sure to be ready the minute the sun does eventually come out. if yours looks like it had dropped from a shabby chapter of "les misérables" it's now the time to give it a lift. kick out what's frumpy or uncomfortable and give old garden furniture a new lease of life with fresh paint. speaking of colour: want to see what came out of the boxes in the post below? chairs like the ones above, i hope to post some own pictures of the garden furniture in smacking crayon colours soon...

move your backside!

oh dear... last friday was a bit of a shock when this load of garden furniture arrived from france. and there was even more of it, but it couldn't fit into the picture!
my shop neighbour was questioning my mental sanity (and so was i) while i rolled my sleeves up and got busy with unpacking and shuffling all of it into the last corner of the house. thank god, nearly all of it was picked-up over the week-end to go on balconies and gardens of zurich. let the sun come out, we're ready!

out of the box and... play!

ready, steady... go! maybe the chemical substances (see below) got to my head or it's the close vicinity of the polytechnicum: look at this retrostyle molecular building set i have bought for the shop! it's not because i was a disaster in natural sciences that i don't enjoy to just follow my natural instinct to play with its endless possibilities of variation.

i think you should have your own personal molecule on your office table not only to look smart (or endearingly naive) but to relax with it when speaking on the phone (or waiting for phonies to take your call).

bliss in a box

sorry girls, i have you hooked with more paper work. not only can you buy those pretty little boxes in the shop for under a tenner, i think this picture might inspire you as much as me to cover plenty more things with beautiful paper (see post below). combine with japanese washi tape and you're on a natural high!
