playing domino

the gold dots of the glasses on the rectangular form of the tray sort of reminded me of domino bricks :-)

well, here is the probably last entry of a new product: the glass with the gold dot on the bottom. the dots are handdecorated in the crystal glass, two shapes, low or high(er). lovely stuff for 14.50/piece.

then a classic: the turning tray with teak wood border. if you turn it over you will find the other side is black. clever and most elegant indeed.

today i woke up with a strange earache and so have decided to stay home and rest. unfortunately this means the shop will be closed today! sorry and hope to be back tomorrow.

a bit of a crime

i pulled out this lovely orchid branch of my maybe 5 year old plant at home, it's a bit criminal!

but tomorrow is the 11th and in the same time last birthday of the shop, so let's make it a bit special. tomorrow 19.11.2014 blog readers will receive an 11% discount on one item of their choice (not cumulative with instagram sales and only valid for purchases directly in the store). all you need to do is say "happy birthday, boudoir" :-)

never too late :-) mailinglist

there is a big difference between "bye-bye, see you again" and "farewell". as an embarrassingly sentimental person, i've never liked farewells and so i'm a bit worried i might shed a few tears when definitely closing the doors of the shop on december 24th, but hopefully not. probably the whole situation will just feel unreal.

so here folks, with a delay of about 11 years, i have decided to start a mailing list NOW. if you want to be on the list you can shortly email me at this new email address

it's cold outside

yesterday when i walked home late in the evening i saw that the temperature was only 1°C! time to bring out the big artillery: the wool caps and heavy shawls.

i fished out the cap i bought myself from the shop two years ago, mine is of 100% baby alpaca, so very soft and warm. it's amazing what a difference wearing this in cold weather makes. this being the 3rd season i'm wearing it - without losing it! - makes it not only a survivor but a very good buy.

this year i have only ordered very few pieces and i'm already regreting it. the one i have is not available anymore, the new ones are more of a beanie shape in mustard yellow or a deep and vibrant navy blue.

let's get real

in the loo i saw my calendar with the countdown for shop closure: blimey, only 49 days to go!!!

the implications haven't really dawned on me yet...

on the more practical (=materialistic) side it's clear to me i'm not pharao ramesses to bring my possessions to my grave and even in my living time there is only so much space in my home and cellar! (yes, i will keep a few things on store for wedding presents etc because i know i will need them sooner or later).

i'm happy the way intstagram sales have started and i encourage you to have a look every few days for the new entries as the price reductions really are interesting. some items like the oval lampshade are actually sold quite below the price i initially paid. one is gone but several more are waiting to find a happy owner.

also, it is necessary for you to click on pictures of interest to be able to see the price. this is only valid from the pictures uploaded from october 21 when the sales started.
