they do

just after writing that sweet & carefree summer days are over and that i need to raise my game it's time to let you know that i won't be working this friday and saturday (nor on sunday or monday for that matter, he, he)...

i'm going for a long week-end near copenhagen: my once so tiny cousin (he's a real hunk now, looking like a viking with his beard) is getting married!

so please note that the shop will be closed friday august 31 and saturday september 1.

i don't know yet if this will apply, but as bf's boss likes to say: your absence is easier to explain than your behaviour!

just sold this afternoon

didn't know which picture to pick so why not post them both? i prefer the one on top but the colour of the stones is more accurate in the second picture. 

the half-transparent green-grey colour of the stone is very elegant with the gold. i had 2 pair made on special order with that smaller size creole ... so i have one pair left! (if possible i will try to reorder next time).

can you feel it too?

yesterday afternoon it was just perfect weather with the lake emerald green and glistening and a clear view of the alps. but folks, it's smelling of autumn...

for me that means lazy summer days are over and it's time to move my backside! i've done near to nothing to get on with the internet shop project and some prep work is needed before i leap into action at the fairs in paris this autumn. i need to work on that magic formula for inspired buys.

anyway, so far i've stood up to the test and haven't had any sweets at all since monday. tomorrow the self imposed ramadan stops, hurray :-)

busy as a bee

just sold this bracelet with the two bees. more bees are available in the shop: the long necklace as shown on the right and a shorter one. more pictures of the necklaces to follow.

was there any special astrological constellation 7,8 or 9 month ago?

i don't know about you, but i do seem to see many heavily pregnant women now in the shop :-)

these cute baby rattles are a bit old fashioned and that's what i like about them. they are nice to hold (no plastic) and they make no electronical noises that will make you go mental, thank you very much.

sold yesterday

another beautiful pair has gone. in good hands, i might add.

the same style but with stones of rutilated quartz - a wonderful grey-green colour - has sold last week. 

i'm really happy and excited to see that this collection of earrings - the friday pieces - despite my apprehension that they might be too hollywood, is selling well and if it continues i will be able to order new earrings when i next meet the supplier in october!

i look forward to that already. 

withdrawal

dear oh dear, i've had way too much food and coffee in the course of this 3 day week-end and now i'm dead tired! what's more, bf and i have decided that we're on ramadan for the rest of the week... in our terms this means: no sugar (with the exception of a tiny bit of sugar for the morning coffee), no wheat flour and no milk (again with the exception of that one morning coffee). i mean, help! 

this decision has actually nothing to do with the wake of this week-end but with the fact that since months i feel rheumatism (first in one forefinger and now in the other one as well). holy cow, it's too early for that!

i've never tried to stick to a diet like this before and i suppose one week is too short to yield a tangible result, but what i do know is that it will positively put my willpower to a hard test. the bets are open: who is going to win, my willpower or my weaker self?

(i'm not sure the outcome is going to be published here :-)).

wonderfully exotic wallpaper... who wants to paper a whole wall? not many i suppose, so get it by the meter instead of the whole roll.

new liberty fabric

last week Marie brought me her new pouches with lovely liberty fabric (see also post entry 19.7.12 for the fabric they're lined with on the inside).

it's not easy to take pin sharp pictures of the fabric (with my shaking hands anyway) so have a better look at these beauties next time you're in the shop.

my friend milena has just spent 4 weeks in calabria, south italy and she's now in the right frame of mind to wear this dramatic pair of earrings :-)

snoopy in the house (2)

this is snoopey scarf two. it's made of modal (little did i know that modal was actually made of birch!) so very soft to touch and 120cm large.

below some details where we see that snoopy is just as busy as we are, playing the guitar, declaring his undying love and writing the typewriter... it's a tough life!

i sell some cushion covers of the swedish company linum and so a while ago i went on their homepage and saw these pictures...

now that would be a dreamplace for me to live in! i love the kind of low windows, the stove and the fair & large wooden planks on the floor.

snoopy in the house (1)

snoopy & colleagues are old childhood friends so i couldn't miss out on that silk scarf. it comes either in black or dark blue to set off the colours and a spritz of neon. personally i prefer the dark blue, i'm also getting one for my mother. they cost 39.90

for many years you would not have caught me dead wearing one around the neck but somehow i like the look of it now (one of a million ways you notice you're getting old!) but usually i would wear it as a head scarf at the beach or to trick on a bad hair day... i have made a picture but my problem today is not a bad hair day but a bad face day, so this one is censored (push that delete button)!

i have another scarf with snoopy on offer, it's much larger and of soft modal. watch that space.
