barely 5.30pm and it's already dark outside... well, it's that time of the year again and since we can't help it let's make it cosy inside. and for that we've found nothing better than good old candlelight.

here's another recent discovery that is to land in the shop soon. for the past few seasons bracelets have been my favorite staple, wearing a single piece or several at the time depending on the mood of the day. there is a good choice on offer in the shop but so far i had been looking for bangles and cuffs without much success. not so anymore.

just arrived

i haven't yet fessed up to all my paris-splurges... and i haven't dropped a word about these new bracelets.

i'm a bit worried because they're not in line with what i usually buy for the shop: this is "plus habillé" more grown-up elegance but in a seventies-kind-of way.

Anyways... they're here! two sizes and several colours.

there's a new town in town

please don't ask me what these houses are for...

they make a good window display for architects. 
you can throw them at a hovering mosquito. 
children can play with them and adults too. 
they can serve as a doorstopper, a paperweight.
to keep a few books in line... whatever!

and you know what? since they sit in my window, all of a sudden men take an interest to the shop, trying to peer inside. i can practically see the question mark on their face, hi hi.

the carmen cards

carmen brought me new cards, i mean with patterns we haven't had before. she buys the sheets with handprinted paper directly in japan and then she and her sister busy themselves with cutting, glueing... precision work.

i could look at these prints for a long long time, there are so many beautiful details, shapes and colour juxtapositions... and the velvety texture. japanese refinement at its best.

there are plenty of new patterns but i'll wait to show you some more because they're quite christmassy with delicate gold and silver in it. anti-dote to kitsch, i promise! keep posted.

paper lamps

it's sometimes quite difficult to find a suitable lamp (and affordable), so here we have two paper lamps who can nicely do the job until you find the lamp of your dreams. they're of course also very suitable for a child's room and at 19.50 they're good on your wallet too.

uff, you can spare yourself a trip to ikea!

i got the confirmation over the week-end that yes! - the trio of the new jewellery collections is complete.
  
so after the one of last week here comes another sneak peek, directly from my computer screen, so poor quality, but you get the idea!

there will be 4 types of earrings, various bracelets, 2 types of necklaces  and rings. this collection is now in production and i expect it for mid/end november.  

the best pick

it's unfair, but i always get the first pick when new things for the shop arrive, he,he! there's got to be some fringe benefits to be running a shop. tuesday daniela brought me new paper flowers, and well, this one is for me :-)

on another note: my gmx email account was apparently used for sending spam mails. i hope you didn't get any and if, then i'm sorry and i hope you didn't get any viruses. it is so annoying.

nostalgia

long gone the days when there was the convention of: may i show you my stamp collection?

long gone also the days when there were not only invoices and traffic tickets in our mailbox but also now and then an actual letter with stamps...

where is the romance?

i cannot offer the real thing, but hey, those new tapes are quite fun to play with. the tape with the safety pins is best used when you cut the pins individually to tape invitations, flyers and photos to the wall. looks surprisingly real with a little distance.

look what's cooking...

i told you i was quite excited about all the orders i placed in paris, so after the new leather bags here's another juicy bit: brand new jewellery collections (yes, you read that correctly: plural! if all goes well 3) will hit the store the next couple of months.

as a teaser i show you pictures of agathe's lookbook. i actually ordered this before leaving for paris, so this is the first of the new collections to arrive beginning of november.

new print

puah, don't look outside... instead, let's get cosy inside.

remember the cushion cover with the sparrows? (cf post 24.7.12.) here's the new hand print with the golden dragon fly. i'm all for a cushion mix and this one adds interest and the cream white base lightens up any colour combination you already have. a touch of light is welcome in the darker season!

des drôles d'oiseaux

new birds for the shop: today i unpacked a parcel containing aprons (both for grown-ups and kids) and kitchen towels.

i once bought a liberty-fabric apron for the shop, meaning to wear it as they do in some shops (so you could see who's working there) but then had to admit that was quite unnecessary = uncool in my case :-( but this morning i sneakily wore the apron in the shop and had a smile on my face... 

but this toile de jouy apron with the printed hen is completely legitimate if you're a hobby cook and it's a good present when you get invited.

i have 3 prints in the t-towls, they will also look good hanging on a wall (i'll have to try this out soon).

the new tote

ladies, i mentioned it yesterday... i'm afraid i went a bit overboard with my orders this week-end.

i'll not confess to all at once, but here's the worst (read: the best) bit: new leather totes in many wonderful colours!!! my favorite ones are this deep indigo blue and a almost fluorescent tangerine! i sure enough have my eyes on the tangerine one because i love colourful accessories in winter to add some vitamins to a look.

here's actually the colour list:
the brights: citrus (=fluorescent yellow), tangerine, persian blue (shown on picture)

the naturals: black, khaki, blue bell (=pale blue/grey), military green, champagne (yes please) 

so far, so good... if only there wasn't the hefty price tag! so put some money in the piggy bank when you can and you'll be there by the time the bags are in, expected for december.

this tote bag will be available in two sizes (i've concentrated on the smaller size) and i've also ordered a small bag that can be used as a clutch (more on that later when i have a photo to show you).

isabel just walked out with these two bracelets on her wrist, lovely combination, isn't it? she sais she normally doesn't wear jewellery at all, so it's an honour for me :-)

paris didn't disappoint, friends! great weather (but not nearly as warm as last year) and a couple of new suppliers for the shop! i'm actually wondering if i didn't overdo it a little... 

more on that tomorrow because i had a manic day at work and it's time to run home and cook... that'll be a late dinner then.
