wowwowwow, july is approaching fast!

but between us, i wouldn't be surprised if there will be a delay in delivery of the earrings...

however, hopefully not too much because we want need this stuff for summer. i just CAN see you coming out of the water with wet hair like a mermaid and those earrings shimmering against your lightly tanned skin...

out of proportion

basically yesterday's still life with some additions.

inspired by a photograph (posted on june 20) i cut a stem of yellow lilies on an outing on sunday and today took one blossom to the shop. love the disproportion of the lily with regard to the small ceramic vase. and yes i like some yellow in small doses!

if you're lucky enough to have a chimney piece at home, that would be an ideal playground.

maybe you would find it more helpful if i provided some great solutions to lack of space but unfortunately this is beyond me (i'm doing very poorly at home!)

i'd rather provide you with ideas how to effectively waste space. just for pleasure. for example with a little display of things you like.

but i just sold these pieces this afternoon and had to take a picture before they went out of the door: pure white, isn't that just beautiful?

the friday pieces

friday! sunny day!

i'm sorry i'm a bit late and i guess most of you have already left the office for the week-end, nevertheless here they are: the wonderful friday pieces.

i love the little feathers and let me tell you that i cut off the long end of the gold chain on the picture because it goes on and on and on... but it doesn't really matter as i've decided to take the symmetric version, i'll get the pair as the piece shown on the right. i feel a little sorry as i think the asymmetric version is stunning. pfffff, i'm too reasonable. 

summer

the longest day of the year, folks... i hope you have something nice planned for this evening and that this will be the kick-off to a decent string of balmy summer nights (wouldn't it be foolish to ask for more?).  

it's been really hot the last few days and textile has to be kept to a minimum and so the "little black dress" of jewellery, aka the little gold necklace is the ideal companion because it always adds some elegance, is light and looks best on skin. if i had only ONE piece of jewellery (totally improbable i agree) it would be this.if you haven't yet found your "lgn" check out the delicate vanrycke necklaces. the rose gold means it suits almost all skin types.

tomorrow i'm back with the antithesis: the very unbasic friday pieces!

soft colours

little ceramic bowls and jugs make pretty vases. above bowl is now available in as many as 13 colours. makes chosing awfully difficult... pic to follow shortly. 

i have about a zillion of photos on my computer, a wild mix of my own and downloaded from internet. i usually try to use my own pics but as the first one shown here (and downloaded without noting the source) matches the second (my own) so well i couldn't resist posting it together.

as far as i'm concerned ceramics can only mean one thing: beautiful trouble!

so even as i put a rather big order (coming from australia you have to balance shipping and other costs) i told myself it was madness.

a burnt child dreads the fire...

so when delivery of 3 cartons finally came - to put it bluntly - i didn't have the balls to unpack for several days.

i don't know if some miracle happened in the meantime (some good fairy working magic) but when i did unpack all but one piece were intact! no missing pieces! all the right colours! this is by far my smoothest ceramic delivery. i feel like i've won the lottery. big relief.

after a two week detox programme i hope you looked forward to the friday pieces!

so here comes your weekly dosis again. if all goes well the earrings should be in about mid-july.

this is precision work! the hoop earrings are embellished with small aquamarines in various shades of blue and greyblue.

makes me dream of another holiday at the mediterranean...

labour of love

today brigitte has brought me new origami paper garlands she makes at home.

weather is to be good this week-end: you could invite friends over to dinner at home on the balcony in the light of the garland wound around the balustrade... sounds good, ey?

brigitte is going to whack me for giving you bad ideas. the garland is not ment to be used outside so never forget to take the garland back inside immediately after use. you guessed it, no rain and humidity allowed!
