year in year out, there is still a lot of black and white living going on in the blogosphere... 

personally, i like it less monochrome (not mondrianesque colours, mind you) and i'm sure this translates into my shop and the pictures you find here on the blog. my mantra is: put some juice in your life!

today a lady has done just this by buying 4 colourful cushion covers (pic 1). in pic 2 you see the new set i put in place.

i'm a big fan of the muuto stacked shelf system and its endless possibilities. often copied but never matched.

simply pile the elements on top of each other or, for a more elegant look, stack them on top of a podium as in the last picture below. you could also hang them on a wall. chose between 3 sizes, with or without backboard, white or ash.

opening times this week

this week there are special opening times for the store, please note that:

on wednesday february 19th the shop closes at 16h30.
the shop will be closed on friday 21st and saturday 22nd.

back to normal opening times from next week.

the other day i received a palett of glassware. if you consider that the shop window is 1m70 long it's easier to imagine the size of the carton. err... didn't realise i had ordered quite as much.

the problem you see, is to find a place to squeeze the stuff into! time to remember the wise man's mantra: sell it, so you don't have to store it :-)

below the pics of the vase which is my favorite of the bunch. there is something unreal about it (ghost in a bottle/jellyfish). the technique that goes into making it is quite elaborate with 3 man working on the vase at the same time! with it's size it's quite a spectacle on it's own, flowers optional! it costs chf 118.-

colourful versus black and white

yesterday was my free day and i went to the book store as i wanted to see if they had something interesting on the theory of colours. the idea was always going to be a good one, but i never got that far. i picked up this book Audrey In Rome and was smitten. i usually never buy what is categorized as "coffeetable-book" but i didn't resist this one.

seems i didn't feel so studious anymore so instead of looking at books with actual text i reached for this large colour card and bought it as well. it will be very useful! not joking, since these are the exact colour shades (RAL) that are available for the mobile line i sell in the shop. more on that later.

another look at spring

yeah, it is a bit early... but on this gray and rainy day we'd like to fastforward 2 months! and well, yesterday i ordered this bag in this fresh celadon green.

wait, celadon we had this in yesterday's post... so why not team this with a deep bordeaux and flanel grey to set off the green?

inspiring

wooah, il love this colour combination! (i know, this sounds a lot like yesterday :-))

the celadon green against the bordeaux/brown - pinstripe grey - gold with the pebble backdrop... and throw the textures in the mix.

take the ring away and this to me is a masterpiece.

mental note to myself: watch and learn!

memories

i'm just back from my grandmother's (...) where i took picture of old pictures, for example showing my grandmother and grandfather, each sitting on a donkey in sicily back in february 1940 on their honeymoon trip. beautiful old pictures. i have to have them framed.
