the merry month of may

look at this person huddling in the left corner of the picture (taken this morning in universitätstasse)... doesn't that say it all?

it's quite without regret that we bid this month of may farewell, and don't come back!

also, at universitätstrasse we aren't sad to see the roadworks f.i.n.a.l.l.y come to a close after 7 month. today we're being tarred, there's noise, there's dirt and there's stink.
 
where is the romance?

to finish the week/month on a more positive note later this afternoon i'll post a picture of the colourful new shop window. hello june!

bags, bags, bags!

you haven't heard of the bags in a long time because i still still haven't received all the colours since my order back in... october 12!

another partial shipment later i have now on stock: 

• small tote bag: indigo blue, black, citrus, red, khaki and brown/orange

• large tote bag: indigo blue, black, red and chocolate brown

• messenger bag (long strap): indigo blue and citrus 

  
currently sold out but in the pipeline (i'd better not make any promises at what point in time): gold, light grey/blue, tangerine, dark green and the new colour: kelly green!
 

small changes

i've taken out the muuto stacked shelf of the shop window and put in room 3 instead. i had to take out my makeshift sofa with the cushions... there's just never enough room!

tough decisions

i'm not sure i would dare paint a wall in charcoal black, but it does look amazing. 

had i one more room (shop or home)... then perhaps. all the colours are enhanced against this dark background (if you have enough light that is).

also i'm tempted by these boxes. maybe it's got to do with my phantasy (and utterly unreachable goal) of a clear desk. to throw all the knick-knacks on your desk into the box: easy peasy. but certainly i look less commanding when i poor the contents on the floor to find what i'm looking for? 

would YOU buy a box?? i've got my finger on the trigger.

btw: i also like the neon pink tape for a collage. available in the shop of course!

very untimely for the month of may, i agree, but it's so chilly let's talk cashmere.

this morning i was wearing a stole around my shoulders while drinking coffee/reading the paper. probably not a foxy sight but comforting.

the pictured scarf is a classic to be used for years and years, en route and at home. 100% cashmere made in scotland.

the thrill of anticipation

i know, i know... more jewellery! 

i just happened upon that picture i took back in march when i put together these (and more) pieces for an order.

we'll have to wait until july for this jewellery to arrive in the shop, but i thought it was alright to give you a sneak-peak :-)

more bracelets

this is the bracelet i bought for my birthday in january and i'm wearing it almost every day.

as you know i since bought some for the shop as well (cf post 21.2.13) and a little while ago i received the new summer collection. which is very colourful!

pics to follow, as soon as i'm up to a one-handed photosession... which always proves to be a bit difficult and the outcome completely random. on this picture for example the cord of the camera is inopportunely hanging into the fild of view. tant pis!

never too little to be polyvalent: these tiny ceramic dishes come handy for salt and pepper, butter, wasabi and other sushi sauces, to hold your favorite jewellery and... most beautifully with flowers.

a good dangle

...never hurt anyone :-)

these grecian blue earrings are made with andalosite, kyanite and aquamarine and are 10cm long.

being somewhat past the prime of youth (like me) shouldn't prevent anyone from having fun with accessories. of course you want to watch out that quality is up to scratch and that you find the right length/width, your own dangling-earing-golden-ratio, so to speak.

but whom am i'm talking to? you ladies have been very favorable to the friday pieces, they're #1 of my jewellery sales! (no party poopers my customers, thank you very much)

it's the moment to come clean with my latest crime: after studying the line sheet very closely for many hours i've placed a new order and... it's already on its way to zurich! i'm so excited to get the new pieces that i'm actually monitoring the shipment: from kahului to honolulu to louisville... delivery is scheduled for next week, so expect to see many new exciting pieces.

new space invaders

do you feel a bit psychedelic looking at that? 

this is just one of the brand spanking new danish mobiles that have now landed in the store. 

mobiles may be the nemesis of utilitarians, so i definitely think you need one in your office :-)

the one shown is rather funky (i like it!), but there are also more subtle ones available that still add that edge to your home. more pics to follow (unfortunately there is not enough room to hang them all).

preparing for summer...water colours

this morning (ok, noon it was), julia had a difficult choice to make between several bracelets all looking good together. the darker green one was already hers (unfortunately not available anymore) and in the end she took the combo of the fine gold line bracelet and the jade green "scale" bracelet as shown below.

bah, i can't even begin to tell you how lovely it was up north in sweden, and mostly sunshine! i can say there was a lot of sand-papering and logging of wood pieces involved... and, let's put it like this: this week i'm on a health diet! 

i had only a couple of hours in copenhagen but still managed to shop :-)

i happened to come across the new store & other stories that you may have read about and that just opened in london, paris and copenhagen. i also bought a ceramic pitcher... and i'm already thinking if that could be something for the shop as well - 'cos no, there isn't enough of ceramics in the shop already.

shop closed...

please note that the shop will be closed from wednesday may 8th to saturday may 11th.

road side treasure

it's spring and you feel like rotting alive on your office desk chair? (yeah, i'm exagerating, i know)

if you can: take a holiday; 

if you can't: pluck a few stems of buttercups that are blossoming now on the road sides, put them in a nice vase and get yourself a good cup of coffee. that's what i'm doing now :-)

oh, it's time to let you know that this week the shop will only be opened on tuesday!

i'm off to work on a summer house in sweden! i have no idea if this will be fun or not: painting, sewing, mending, gardening...

please note that the shop will be closed next wednesday to saturday.

 eva sent me this picture from toulouse... 

apparently it's a hairdresser called boudoir - as you can see from the nameplate. now what really surprises me is the logo: the lettering is virtually the same as for my shop!

maybe i have a souldmate in toulouse and neither of us knows.

friday pieces

it's our favorite day of the week again...

this friday it's the turn of a smaller pair of earrings that could even qualify as sensible (which must be the exception of the hawaiian collection) and that could get the approvement of your mother-in-law BUT still manages to look lush and tropical... and to put you in a good mood.

the stone drop is a pink sapphire, i had the same with a green chrysoprase. Had??? yeah, both pairs are sold. but fear not, i'm already taking care of supplies :-)

it's out of the closet

there you have it, i couldn't resist... (or were you naive enough to think i could?)

so i've ordered some printed t-shirts and sweaters (i didn't get all the designs i wanted but then i'm already lucky to get something for this season).

i have to stop you in your tracks: no these tops are not available for adults. and yes, it's unfair. but at least you will be able see your kids wearing the stuff and it will make you smile. not to mention of the lovely present idea that is now yours.

i expect the mini collection to arrive around mid-month.
