no, seriously...

certainly there must be something wrong with me psychologically if i want to start children's clothes again???

had i a few more square meters to spare in the shop...

i'm currently in contact with this swedish company, i'll let you know if something's in the making.

the full tilt mambo

can't believe it's already friday again! ... when am i supposed to get the work done?

i leave you for this week with this lavish pair of earrings made on special order with chrysoprase, an asymmetric pair, as you can see, which adds to the specialness.

i should have photographed this pair hanging so that the light could come through the stone, maybe another time 'cos i'm running out of time today!

obviously this is a rather extravagant pair to be worn when you're in an excellent mood (don't forget: life is short!).

if you feel it's a bit too much for you we could simply take off stones and/or gold chains, shorten gold chains... in short: make a custom made pair for you. wouldn't that be lovely?

the pleasure

that quite makes up for the pain of unpacking...

i'd happily have the entire collection at home too!

btw, yesterday two young ladies said to me in the shop: can we move in? nice compliment that was :-)

the pain

usually to receive delivery is nice: you unpack and rediscover the pieces you have ordered, sometimes up to 4-6 months earlier...

that's when i think i really like my job.

but there are times when delivery is not much fun, and alas, ceramics certainly spell trouble. in fact, ceramic deliveries make me break out in a cold sweat.

last week i got 3 big cartons of about 50kg all in all to unpack and i can tell you there definitely were some "funny" noises when i opened them... no wonder when you look at the state of one of the cartons with the contents nearly spilling out.

that's when i think my job is pretty shitty.

anyways, a few days later and the breakages as best as possible dealt with by the supplier, the anguish subsides and now i'm happy with the beautiful pieces that came out of the boxes alive.

so tomorrow it'll be about the pleasure!

piggy pink

last week i mentioned the two piggy pink chairs i bought...

who thought piggy pink chairs could look so good?

one is at home (pic1) the other i'm lending to the shop for you to see and test. they're formidably comfortable.

the chair is made of oak wood and comes in various colours: yellow, grey, dark green, red or pink. or unpainted oak (pic2).
to be ordered in the shop.

ps: as one thing leads to the next, seeing pic 2 i suddenly thought those white lamps really look pretty good too, hmmmm...

out of the closet

this weekend it was off to the cellar with the winter clothes/shoes... out comes the summer gear, thank you very much!

some stuff went directly to caritas, but i have these two pair of shoes that are vertually new but unfortunately just too small for me. i can squeeze into them but i hate being unconfortable.

Anyone interested? they are size 37 but fit a smaller foot, so if you usually wear 36 they could be for you.

bring on the colours!

i don't know if you're a reader of living magazines or blogs, but if you are, then you will have noticed the scandinavian trend for all "black-white-wood" that has prevailed for the past few years. and that seems to have been picked up by the cool crowd everywhere else. i could show you zillions of photos, but let's just have two:

pics by kristofer johnsson

now this looks like a beautiful appartment (space-window-floor-walls) but i would NEVER EVER like to live in a black-white-wood colour scheme. where is the juice?

how about you?

ps: i have bought 2 pink wood chairs. say the pink of a newborn (read: clean) piglet. more on that next week.

surprise

after a delay of a few weeks (cf blog entry march 14th) i could finally go and get aude's jewellery collection at the post office this morning. it was worth the wait.

not only was it a pleasure to rediscover the new jewellery line (because from the moment when you order to the moment you unpack memory of the actual pieces is blurred).

as a surprise aude also sent me a beautiful book about nomadic jewellery. turns out she is the co-author!

so not only is this girl talented, she's passionate about what she's doing. inspiring for us mere mortals!

in the coming days i will post pictures i made of her jewellery. keep posted...

tattoos?????

you bet! but not the real thing, ephemeral ones. like the stick-on tattoos you found in the bazooka chewing gums (remember sam the pirate?), just more grown up.

it's good to play! soon au boudoir...

as bf said to me yesterday: le boudoir leaves no stones unturned :-)

give me the light

since the beginning of the year i'm selling these Secto birch wood lamps from finland, unfortunately i don't have the space to display them the way they can in this airy brassery in poland.

common wardrobe dilemma

this morning i was standing in front of my wardrobe, clueless. looking at winter clothes - big pullovers that is - filled me with loathing. i have nothing to put on!

that's why i love a good scarf. it can change your outlook on the day... no wonder they have been at the fashion forefront continously since 2007 (i happen to remember this precisely because i bought a so-called "Arafat scarf" that summer, hihi).

so aside from the big chunky scarves (wonderful as they are, now under a ban until next autumn, but the new collection is already in the making) and the finer wooly ones i have a new line from danemark in the works.

my order back in january has now been confirmed, i'm happy to say! there will be all kind of materials, also of pure silk, with the common denominator of prints. and very nice ones at that!

first delivery expected for june.

new in

last week the kilim rugs arrived, i've also taken some cushion covers (60x60cm).

believe me, when you're literally stumbling over and climbing on piles and piles of folded kilims it's a rather daunting task to keep your cool and pick the best pieces (not to mention the stressful presence of the choleric turk boss!).

that allone is a good reason why a person in his/her right frame of mind wouldn't buy rugs, but on top of that it's also because selling a kilim can take a long time. the right sizes x the right colours x the right wallet (fine woven kilims like that come at a price)= infinitesimal chance of selling it to you, dear reader, but you never know ;-)

btw: i'm glad about the pieces i've chosen! so i'm optimistic that they will find a happy home in time as did the other kilims so far.
